From a financial standpoint, in 7 years, we have grown month over month and have been extremely profitable. In the last 18 months, we have settled or obtained verdicts of over $100 million for clients. From a relationship standpoint, we have developed strong bonds with medical providers, mediators, safety experts, opposing attorneys, and adjusters. While most law firms are laser-focused on their bottom line or greed, our attention is on so much more. Therefore, we see more and are able to quickly adjust any situation into a winning one. Winning with awareness means listening deeply to clients and employees and being open to constructive criticism. Since starting our firm seven years ago, we have implemented many changes suggested by employees. Allowing employees the space to speak and be heard further supports their happiness and desire to remain part of our family. There is no hierarchy or pyramid at our firm. Everybody has a voice, and everybody is an integral part of our success. Additionally, employees see opportunities for promotions. Since starting our firm, four receptionists have become either case managers or office managers, three case managers have become paralegals or directors, and one attorney has been named a partner.

Winning With Awareness means realizing we sometimes make mistakes but are willing to fix them and admit when we are wrong. It means to speak authentically to everybody and not be scared to tell people the truth even if it’s not pleasant. Honest communication builds trust, which is central to any relationship. What we have found is the better we treat our opponents, the more likely they are to pay our clients more money to settle. It’s the opposite approach to “winning at all costs” because that means you step on your opponent to achieve success. It means to only focus on winning and nothing else. Ultimately, when you step on enough people’s heads and toes, their focus turns to finding a way to step on yours.

As the leader of this firm, I first start by placing myself in each employee’s shoes and asking the question: How can I make this employee’s life better? I then spend time thinking about their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. I am constantly analyzing ways to improve my employees’ pay, time off work, health, knowledge, and happiness. I’ve developed a number of different creative ways to incentivize employees to work more efficiently and reward them for their success. In turn, our employees get hungrier to help clients obtain settlements. Our employees are some of the highest-paid employees in the entire country and seem to be extremely happy with their work-life balance. We don’t let greed, ego, or stubbornness hold us back. There is zero drama at our firm for a reason. There are very few, or none at all, employee complaints about vacation time, working too much, general job unhappiness, compensation, or benefits. This is because the leadership at the firm cares, listens, and makes necessary changes to constantly evolve.
