If you plan to travel to Texas for the 2026 World Cup, Dallas is ready to deliver an unforgettable, high-energy experience. With an office in Dallas, Shamieh Law is proud to call the host city our home, and we welcome soccer lovers from all over the world.

As big soccer fans, Ramez Shamieh and the rest of our team share our favorite spots, hidden gems, and insider tips to help you navigate the Dallas World Cup events and festivities like a true local.

Getting Around Dallas

If you’re visiting the Dallas-Fort Worth area for the 2026 World Cup, it’s important to consider how you’ll get around during your stay. Here are tips to help you understand the city’s transportation landscape:

  • Stadium Location: AT&T Stadium is located in Arlington between Dallas and Fort Worth. Downtown Dallas is about 20 miles from the stadium.
  • Public transportation: While masstransit is available, wait times can be lengthy. From Dallas, the primary option is a Greyhound bus, which is a private company From Fort Worth’s Union Station, you can take the Trinity MetroExpress (TRE) directly to the stadium. However, this metro has large gaps between service and typically runs 5 AM to 11:30 PM Monday through Saturday.
  • Driving culture in Dallas: Most people use personal vehicles to get around Dallas, so be prepared to drive or use a ridesharing service. Driving is part of the Texas experience, with plenty to see while you make your way through the city.
  • Car accident assistance: Drunk drivers and those who are distracted or otherwise negligent can cause accidents. If you’re hurt in a crash, Samieh Law is here to provide legal support.

Where To Stay During the World Cup in Dallas

When you’re looking at places to stay for the World Cup, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Commute times: If you want to avoid long drives and heavy traffic, plan on staying closer to the stadium.
  • Transit choices: Parking at major events can be expensive and crowded. Using rideshare apps can save you the hassle of parking, though you can expect surge pricing.
  • Pedestrian infrastructure: Outside of specific entertainment or urban districts, pedestrian infrastructure in the Dallas-Fort Worth area may be lacking. There is no way to safely walk from Dallas or Fort Worth to the Stadium, you will have to take a vehicle to the AT&T Stadium.

Arlington

Staying in Arlington puts you in the center of the action with the shortest distance to the stadium. Consider the Loews Arlington Hotel or Live! By Loews – Arlington, TX, both of which are only minutes away from AT&T Stadium on foot. If you do choose to stay in Arlington and plan to walk, it’s important to ask your hotel or lodging choice if it’s advisable and if you can safely walk. Even if the distance is walkable, the infrastructure may not exist, making this a no-go option.

Irving

As a central hub, Irving offers easy access to both major airports and AT&T Stadium. The city features a moderate drive to the matches, upscale dining, and entertainment options.

Downtown Dallas or Fort Worth

If you want world-class nightlife, entertainment, and culture, staying in the heart of either downtown Dallas or Fort Worth is perfect. However, you’re looking at a longer drive to the stadium.

What To Pack and How To Prepare

Because Texas summers are very hot, take steps to stay cool and hydrated. Pack breathable clothing, sunscreen, polarized sunglasses, and a reusable water bottle.

Before heading to the match, check the official AT&T Stadium security guidelines, as they strictly enforce a clear-bag policy and limit pouch sizes. There may be additional safety requirements for major events, like the World Cup.

For peace of mind, you may want to consider travel insurance before your trip. This coverage can provide financial protection for unexpected flight delays, lost luggage, or emergency medical care.

Most importantly, stay aware of your surroundings, plan your transportation in advance, and have an amazing, safe World Cup experience in Dallas.
