How Long Will My Case Take?
Video Transcript
[Music] Cases vary by how long they’re going to take, and it depends on a number of factors. One of the main factors is how injured you are. So, the more injured you are, the longer it takes for you to receive medical care. We can’t settle your case until we know how badly injured you are, and we need to make sure that you recover fully so that we can compensate you for those injuries. Another factor is if the insurance company wants to play games with us and so it may take a little bit longer, we may have to file a lawsuit. One of the first things we do when you sign up with our firm is we educate you for the entire process. We go over all of it. We tell you first, you’re going to receive medical care. In the background, we’re going to be investigating the accident. After you’re done receiving the medical care, we’re going to gather all your medical records and put together a demand package. Along the way, we’re going to communicate with you and then we’re going to negotiate a settlement. If the settlement isn’t fair, we’re going to file a lawsuit and we’re going to push the case to trial. Again, this can take anywhere from a year to two years, but it really depends on your specific case. And that’s something we’re going to go over with you early on to make sure you feel comfortable knowing the process.
