The Truth About “Full Coverage” Insurance
Video Transcript
One of the biggest misconceptions about auto insurance is they’re here to protect you. And it’s the opposite. They’re here to minimize how much they pay out. They’ve implemented certain words or phrases to make you feel safe and secure and protected, and it’s just not the case. One example of that is something called full coverage. There is absolutely no such thing as full coverage; there’s just more amounts of money that you can stack onto your policy. But the main thing you need to understand is if you’ve been in a wreck and you’ve been injured and you’re going after another party’s insurance or even after your own for uninsured or underinsured motorist, the insurance company is literally there to minimize how much they pay you. And that’s literally why I have a job. My job is to protect you and make sure you’re compensated in full. And the insurance job is to minimize how much they pay out. And so that would be the main thing I would tell you about your insurance policy.
