How Are Expert Witnesses Used in Personal Injury Cases?
Video Transcript
[Music] My law firm routinely hires experts on your case and they can be broken down into two types of experts. One type of experts is to determine a responsible party for your injuries. So that could be a number of different experts. It could be somebody that comes in and says that the ground where you fell was an unreasonably dangerous condition or another experts called a human factors expert and they come in and they tell you how humans are are reacting to certain incidents and how they should react and how they fall. Another expert’s a biomechanical expert or an accident reconstructionist. And they’re all designed to determine who’s responsible for your injuries. The next type of experts we routinely hire are what’s called damages experts. They come in and they determine your damages. So, for example, if you’re unable to work or you’re unable to produce the same amount of money that you were producing at the time of the wreck, they’ll come in and they’ll estimate your future damages for not being able to work or maybe working in a different profession that uh produces less income. And so, we we do this every day and we’re going to guide you through this process. We’re going to make sure you understand these kind of experts and tell you why or why not we we hired or didn’t hire them to make sure you feel very secure in the way we’re navigating your case.
