Hailing from Lake Charles, Louisiana, Ramez relocated to Dallas in 1999, where he has resided ever since. He attended and played soccer at Southern Methodist University (SMU), graduating cum laude from the SMU Cox School of Business. Ramez then earned his law degree from Tulane University Law School in 2007. After graduating from law school, Ramez was hired by McCathern, PLLC, one of the premier trial law firms in the state of Texas. While working for McCathern, PLLC, Ramez handled breach of contract disputes for the Dallas Cowboys Football Club, Ltd., Cowboys Stadium, LP, and the Jerry Jones Family and their related entities. Ramez is currently licensed to practice law in Texas, Louisiana, and New York and is admitted for practice in all Texas and Louisiana state and federal district courts.
Ramez is extremely proud of his Arab roots. Ramez’s father grew up in Lod, Palestine (now Tel Aviv), and his mother was born in Jerusalem. After his father graduated medical school in Egypt, his residency brought him to Baylor University in Houston. When his parents married, they decided to build their home in Lake Charles, where his father has been a practicing neurologist for over 45 years.
Although currently residing in Texas, Ramez accomplished one of his career goals by opening an office in his hometown in 2018. Shamieh Law currently operates in Dallas, Austin, and Lake Charles, Louisiana. Outside of his law practice, Mr. Shamieh is actively involved in a wide variety of organizations, including the Dallas Bar Association, Dallas Trial Lawyers Association, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and Dallas Association of Young Lawyers. He is also proud to serve on the board of the Dallas Galleries for Advocacy (DGFA) supporting fine art in his local community.
