Should I File a Claim With My Insurance Company or the Other Driver’s Insurance Company?

Video Transcript

If you’ve been in an accident, you have the choice of filing a claim with your own insurance company or the other party’s insurance company. Here’s who I recommend. If the other party’s insurance company’s taking too long to get your claim moving, you can file it under your own insurance company. You would pay a deductible, and then your claim would get processed quickly. If you don’t want to do that, then you can go after the other party’s insurance company. But sometimes it takes a little bit longer. Time is usually of the essence, and that’s where we come in. We can really help you shorten that time frame so you can get your property damage taken care of. Before releasing any documents to the other party’s insurance company, I would always recommend speaking to your lawyer. There’s a reason for that. The other party’s insurance company is trying to minimize how much they pay you. The answer is this. If you have medical records, provide it to us and we’ll review the records with you, explain what they are, and then we’ll send it to the other party’s insurance company.
